Bharatpur
Renowned for its amazing UNESCO-listed wetland and remarkable bird sanctuary, Keoladeo Ghana National Park, this city was built by Maharaja Suraj Mal during the 18th century and it also offers some of the historic traces. For the bird sanctuary this wonderful, this dusty, noisy and not-so-visitor-friendly does deserve a visit. Visit the city just prior to Holi celebrations as at that time vibrant Brij Festival is held over there. And as you head to the sanctuary, don’t miss offering your prayers at the ancient Lord Shiva Temple. Posing vibrantly rich culture, this fascinating destination instantly casts a spell on the visitors.
